I was wondering if anyone has done tinkering with the length of the darts, more specifically for blowguns and tagger darts.  Last night I tried cutting half an inch off the end of the dart, and I believe I got more accuracy out of it, and maybe a slight boost in range as well, but I need to do more testing to confirm it - but alot of trouble would be saved if someone has already tested it out at all.

A guy here made these needle dart things out of magazine pages, which he then put in the back of tagger darts. He is getting 120+ feet with his blowgun now.

So he basically filled in the hole at the back of the dart, making it more efficient to fire.

Results from modifying dart lengths depend on the gun, though it won't always work.  For example, the Air Zone suction-head darts are shorten than their Nerf counterparts, and they CAN be fired out of a Maverick.  They usually just flop out of the gun though.

No, he made it where it caught more of the air and let the air push it. The needle was more of a cone with an open end and a dart on the point.
