Just finished my barricade figured I would post it, I think this will definitely change HvZ

Currently an evolution in progress, this sprouted from SGnerf and Psyks original clipfed barricade.

Striving for a more polished look, and having a raider on hand I decided to recycle it's magwell.

I think that in time barricades will dominate as a sidearm

*Update*
I'm going to try to keep this as organized as I possibly can.

Notice directly under the flywheel housing there is half of a screw mount.
This mount is the attachment point to the front end of the magwell (its glued to the orange clip lock)

The front raider magwell has a lip on the inner side that needs to be trimmed flush with the housing for the clip lock (The orange piece)

The back side of the Raider magwell needs cut off so there is only a single wall.

And a question directed at SGnerf and Psyk: Have either of you experienced this little dilemma?

Currently I'm seeing the flywheels as needing the most improvement.

How the heck did you get the Raider magwell to fit the barricade?

I for one, demand a writeup.

Is there a way I can take the magwell off of my raider without breaking it?  I love my raider but that gun looks so cool.

with a small amount of trimming to the front and rear of the raider magwell

underneath the magwell there are four screws holding it onto the shell.

What's that black box? Also, what's holding the mag well to the barricade?

The black box is an offbrand 6v NiCD pack, I'll eventually upgrade to lithium-ion cells.

the Backside of the magwell is hotglued to the inner wall of the barricade. the gluing is only on the bottom half of the shell,
so it can be disassembled and serviced

Could I get a side on shot focusing on the magwell with no angle? I want to see how far and where I need to cut.

Finding a way to use the Raider magazine catch is very clever.  Cool  I actually have one lying around and a brand new Barricade I have yet to open.  Hmmm...

It can be done by opening up the Raider to release the "locks" that hold it in.

Wow, this a great idea. Does the clip go straight in? As opposed to how you have to load it at any angle for SG's and Psyks's mods?

Its litterly that easy to do this mod to the gun?

Just shred a bit here, a bit their, epoxy/hotglue the well on an...
bam?
presto chango?

that....is brilliant.
seriously. This makes me want to buy a barricade that much more. if its that easy I HAVE to get the gun.
do all the general mods to it, get 2 4.6 volt AA's, and clip it.
just.....wow

-RESPECT- ^_^

Another reason I'm happy: I have a broken raider shell lying around here.
the well has already been....extracted
mwahahahhaah

I can see that thing working great with the AT 18 shot drum and would work out great with the stampede I bought from a friend.......in terms of duel wielding them <3

moddersunited,

Great idea!

Me and pSyK have been trying to figure out various ways to make the clip securing system stronger in order to hold the heavier 35-dart drum magazines... and you have managed to find an effective (and simple) way to do it. Cheesy

Thanks for posting it up!

Hi, new Nerf member from Sydney, Australia.

LOL I can't believe two very experienced Nerfers from Singapore (Sgnerf and Psyk) have not been to this forum before.

I agree the person above that Raider parts are valuable and I am a bit hesitant to take out the mag well to attempt this mod. In fact the whole higher voltage Li-on batteries, internal re-wiring, pressure pad relocation, cutting of shell and attaching of mag well appears a bit too advanced for a newbie modder like me  Cheesy

Added: One thing I notice is the drum magazine is inserted facing backward, so does that mean you have to load the darts facing backward into the drums too?
