Title: Welcome Thread
Post by: Cweed on August 11, 2008, 01:24:07 AM
If you're not sure what HvZ is (or if you have other questions) take a look at  this thread  (http://media.goucherzombies.com/smf/index.php/topic,91.0.html).

Hello and welcome to the Humans vs Zombies (HvZ) community forums.  First of all, let me thank you for making this game what it is.  Whether you've organized games at your school or have just heard about it from a friend - we wouldn't exist without your interest and participation.  HvZ is being played internationally now and the point of this board is to give players around the world a way to communicate with one another.

So thanks for joining us!  You can use this thread to introduce yourself.

-----

If you have organized a game at your school send me a private message with your name and school.

Hollla!
My name is Joe Sklover.  I am 22 years old and from Washington, DC.  I have been involved with Humans Vs Zombies since it's creation at Goucher.  After I played the first two games of HvZ, I discovered that playing the game made me too neurotic (I am already pretty crazy).  Coincidentally, the game moderator was graduating, so I asked Brad and Chris if I could take over... I have been a game moderator since.

My favorite part about HvZ is that it brings people together... With out the game, I would not have known nearly the amount of people that I do.  I would never have had as many friends as I did at Goucher, including my roommate Chris Weed.

I'm Andrew Ketrow, former Zombie Jesus of Ball State University and working on bringing the game to Indiana University at Bloomington. I think the best part of HvZ is the social aspect, how it forces people to come together and meet new people, and to work closely with people they might never have met before. This serves to bring folks together in new and exciting ways.

I'm Cody Sumter, moderator at Truman State University in Missouri. A little under 3 years ago I got my first taste of the game assassins. After the game had concluded I found myself with 2 friends from my hall in Taco Bell at midnight discussing the game. We loved the idea of taking things to the next level and seriously considered running a campus wide game but there was still something missing. Though assassins is often used as a bonding activity it can force players to isolate themselves for the duration of the game. We pondered a squad based assassins game to counteract this but there was still something missing.

Last summer I discovered HvZ and was amazed. This was exactly what we had been grasping for 2 years earlier. Instead of the isolation you see collaboration. When I walk into a lounge and see a dozen players, many strangers until the game, excitedly recounting their experiences from the day I know why this game is awesome. If you were to write down everything exciting you did today, how long would it be? Now, if you've played, how much could you write for a single day of HvZ?

Hey ya'll, Caitlin "Cat" Yimet here.  I'm the Prez over at NIU for HvZ and currently dealing with a load of paperwork and red tape, so things are busy over this way.  I heard about this game at a retro video games party in Fall '08 and haven't looked back.  I'm one of the most active players at NIU and the most adamant about keeping it fun and getting people involved.  (Posters are fun...>>)

But...yeah?  Boring, I know. =3

Eric Bozarth here. Player at Truman State. While I am not a moderator, I do extensively help behind the scenes. I jokingly refer to myself as "the guy that makes the videos," as I have made several using footage from our first game and have made my own as teasers and to get people excited for the upcoming game. Recently finished a video for our orientation, like a quick preview of how to play, we will see if it works later. Also I have been heavily involved in fixing the rules to fit Truman's style. And strong advocate for HvZ everywhere.

HvZ introduced me to people I would never have met in any other social event. The gathering of people is amazing. All different types of people, different majors, different social classes, and it seems that everyone gets along playing it too. It has been the best experience for me during college. I thank all you awesome people at Goucher for having an amazing idea and sharing it with all of us and I thank Cody and Dale who were the ones who brought it to Truman.

I'm Asa from Goucher, and while hardly an all-star player I very quickly became known as a player who gets really into HvZ......a compliment that's sometimes rather backhanded, I'd say, ahah.  HvZ was a big extra-curricular reason for my choosing Goucher for college.

I wholeheartedly second Joe's comment about the game bringing folks together...I've met so many great people– and a few asshats– through this wonderful lil' game.

I am grateful to be part of HvZ, Inc. as an editor.

Hey, Im Zack and I brought the game to RIT, Rochester New York, and now run the game with two of my friends.  The game we played last week, our 3rd here at RIT, was almost 500 players.  From what I have heard this is the biggest yet and we are looking at 600-700 for our end of the year game.

If anyone else has had over 400 in a game I'd like to chat about some things that worked and didnt work.

Hi all, my name is Jon and I've been playing this since the beginning at Goucher.  This semester I'm going to help Mod my first game.  I think this forum is great for getting ideas out there, the more 'together' and interesting each game is, the faster it will spread, and more people can have fun.

Howdy do!  I'm Ryan and I'm planning to organize a HvZ game at the Fremont, CA location of DeVry University.  I've recently run an Assassination Game earlier this year in Spring, and from a suggestion by a fellow student here, decided to host a HvZ game for the Halloween season.  I'd like to learn as much as I can to make sure that the HvZ game here will roll out smoothly and be fun for everyone involved!  A big thanks for creating a resource such as this.  ^_^

Hi, I'm Matt
I'm the President and founder of the gaming club at Spokane Community College. I am interested in tweaking the rules around a little bit to fit our situation (no dorms). So I will be prodding for suggestions and keeping posted about what we finally decide on....and the results.  I don't plan on playing till March, so I have plenty of time to work something out.
Hope to hear from you all.

Hey every one my name's Peter and I'm 15 years old and a sophmore in high school. After doing some reading, and watching I have to say that HvZ is amazing and I really want to get a group started at my high school. I was hoping I could get help modifying some of the rules for limited play (after school, week ends, maybe lunch) I was thinking of establishing only socks at school and only inbetween classes and during lunch. Instead of a 15 minute freeze time while at school, maybe just a established honor system of if you get hit once, you are sterilized for the rest of that block of time. I was thinking after school and weekends is when we would run missions, and bring out the heat.
Tell me what you guys think. I'm also centered in Austin, so maybe there is already a group there I could join?

I'm Will from Chico. We're hoping for our first game the week of Halloween with Goucher style rules minus Nerf guns. There's been a lot of  violence and overall nastiness around campus and town lately so we are very worried about our game. So we're stressing the rules so everyone is safe, and everyone knows we're safe ...and that it is just a silly game.
Braaains.

Hey I'm Taylor Bendig and i currently attend West Forsyth High School in Clemmons NC.
I discovered HvZ while looking for ideas for nerf wars.  This game looks incredibly addicting.
And then i watched Max Tempkin's documentary and i thought, "wow, this is absolutely amazing"

While i havent attended any events yet, im trying to get HvZ (with modified rules)
approved at my school.  I should be going to the principle tomorrow to talk with him...

Anyways, i think that HvZ is a great way to make school more fun and a harmless way to blow off some steam.

Thats my two cents, and btw thanks to chris weed and that other guy (dammit i cant remember his name sorry) for creating HvZ.

Your first post had only a single comma as punctuation as well as no capital letters.  It also went to new lines without finishing statements and just made me think of him.  And Cummings does use structure, it just is sometimes hard to find.

Yes, indeed Cummings does use structure, but it is that of a ninja. It lurks in the shadows waiting for crazy 8th grade Language Arts teachers to force her students to look for it and decipher it.

Oh and I was in a hurry to write that post.

Well, I was just informed of Humans vs. Zombies via some friends of mine looking to start our own game at Fairleigh Dickinsin University in NJ, and I must say, in the span of now and then, I've learned all I can find out about HvZ and am pumped for our first match. We're working hard to get it to be approved by the school so we can have our first match in the Spring next semester.

But seriously, this game looks incredibly fun. I can't wait for us to start.

I am Robert Wilhelm. I'm 21 years old and I am try to get a game of HvZ started at the University of Kentucky. At last check 2 schools in our state already play the game, Morehead, & Berea. So we sorta have a leg to stand on and some friends close by in case we need them. I really hope out game goes off without a hitch I'm planning on doing it in October, but the weather in Kentucky is sorta bi-polar last week I literally wore shorts one day and then had to wear a parka the next cause it was snowing. So we'll have to see how that would effect gameplay.

I've been an inactive member of the forums since April '08, but am beginning to get more involved.

My name is Chris. I'm 22 years old, and a CCBC Essex soon-to-be graduate and future McDaniel College transfer. I've been playing HvZ at Goucher College for some time. My first game was the one filmed by Max Temkin for his famed documentary. I've had the pleasure of both playing with and getting to know both the game's creators, moderators, players, and supporters. Interestingly enough, I've never actually attend Goucher College. I just used to work there and, through that experience, I met enough people and learned about HvZ that I started playing. I plan to continue playing HvZ at Goucher until I get the opportunity to study Medieval History in Norway, or until Chris Weed hires me as Head of Security/Lil' Saint's gourmet chef.

On a side note, I enjoy listening to rain, spending time outdoors, playing Xbox 360 (Gamertag: Det Fjorsvafi), obsessing over Vikings, and watching Zombie movies.

Hello all! I'm Becky, currently the admin at Oregon State University.

I found out about the game through a friend who wanted to organize the game here earlier last year before realizing he didn't have the time to commit. There were too many people who really wanted to see it through when it fell through the first time, so with some help I revived the idea and we've now played 2 games on campus.

I've been a little obsessed with the idea since I found out about it. Aside from planning HvZ, I play a lot of Ultimate Frisbee on campus. I'm also pretty involved in my school's band program (marching band is awesome, I got to meet some people from Pitt at the Sun Bowl and talk HvZ) and like hiking, graphic design, and anything that lets me a)be a nerd or b)be outdoors.

Hey, my name is Matt, I'm a 2x HvZ vet. Attending UMaine.  Our first game saw me being tagged in the first 3 hours of the game and ending up with the second or third most kills for a zombie. Game number two I survived until friday at which point I decided to go down in a blaze of glory.  My specialties are reconnaissance, and tactics.  I fire as little ammo as possible and rely on my speed to get me out of tough spots

I heard about HvZ when a friend of mine sent me a link to the goucher college documentary.  It seemed pretty intense, but i put it to the back of my mind.  Then this year, fall '08 a fraternity on campus set up a game as a charity event to raise money for less fortunate families, so of course I had to play.

I generally rock a Recon, a modded Mav, and my trusty sock flails.

Hows it going everyone. I watched the documentary on On Demand (I hate saying that) last year and immediately brought the game to my circle of friends. They told people who told people and soon the game was underway. 6 games later and we're still going strong and more people are joining. Its pretty much local High School aged kids playing the game. Our next games August 10th. I'm looking to show you mine and hopefully see your...set of rules and mission ideas! I'm always looking to improve the game for the players.

Hey there. I'm UltraByte, an all-around geek. One of my friends who is in her second year of college told me about this zombie Nerf game a long time ago. I recently discovered the website, and it's got me hyped. I just started my first year of a community college, so I doubt I can get some sort of game running there... so I'm interested in alternatives and whatnot. : D

I have a Longshot getting dusty in my closet, but I might whip it out soon to get into the mood... I'm looking to get a Maverick soon.

Hi, I'm a high-school senior in Vegas. I heard of this game from a newsletter I forgot I was signed up for, and this sounds like the best thing ever. I doubt I can really get my school (Southeast Career Technical Academy) to approve of such awesome shenanigans, although I'll bring it up to several people I know so that they're aware that this exists. If whatever college I end up going to doesn't have this, I'll definitely push for it then (I think it'd be easier to get passed on a college campus). Until then, I'll just stand back and watch the grey matter fly.

Granted, I don't know how good a player I'd be. I can't run fast, and I'm terrible at aiming, but I did tend to live unusually long in dodgeball games, so maybe I have the luck. At any rate, great work deciding to make such a game! Makes things a lot more interesting for the childish-at-heart like me.

Hey guys, my name is John Mortara. I go by Rosewater over at Penn State and have a relatively instrumental part in the club that runs HvZ and other games here. I personally admin our Assassins games, co-admin our Scavenger Hunts, and also help run our short-term 48 and 12 hour HvZ games.

I've always been kindof an Assassins kid at heart, but when I discovered the Urban Gaming Club's HvZ game in Spring 08, I went absolutely ape-shit for it. Next semester's game will unfortunately be my last and I'm actually starting to get rather sad about it. I just hope it becomes a national sport ASAP so I can keep playing after I graduate. (I joke about it a lot but I'm actually kindof serious.)

Here are some things you might want to check out (especially if anyone here is considering going to PSU).

P.S. - If anyone here plays at UMass Amherst, do you guys take grad students?  ;)

My name is Alec, and I am a freshman at the University of Wisconsin Madison. I have played one round already, surviving until 5 hours before the final mission started. I am also proud to say that I was one of the last surviving human players who wore their bandana on a regular basis. Most of the survivors playing the final mission were alive mostly because they had taken their bandana off at one point to avoid detection. As a human, I was slightly irritated, but still glad to have more people on my team.

As a zombie, I grew to hate this behavior. Of course, I don't want to get a player banned for cheating, so I guess the best I can do is try and persuade them to play fair.

Hi Brainfeeders

My name is Sam, I'm a 4th year Arts/Law student from ANU in Australia (1 year to go, makes me a junior in US parlance). We've played one truly amazing game (thanks to our amazing mods and the good spirit of nearly everyone who played), and I've become completely obsessed with HvZ.

Favorite Gun: Well, I only own the mighty Buzz Bee Clip 10, which is so inaccurate I missed a zombie 2m away from me.
Favorite hiding spot: Libraries, we have 4 that are really good for hiding away in and sneaking out to missions from.
Favorite zombie taunting dance: The Safety Dance

Hello all, I'm glad to be here.  I go by "The Red Scare", "Red Scare", "Scare", "Red", or even "Scare, The Red" if you so choose.  My real name is Steve and I'm a player and moderator at Bowling Green State University in Ohio.

Our game, BGUNDEAD, spans roughly a week of time (sometimes 8 full days, instead) and culminates in the "Final Stand" type of scenario.  We welcome outside players who register, read, agree to, and follow our rules, and buy our $5.00 bandanna, so feel free to drop-in and introduce yourself if you want to roll with us.  You can register on our organization's website (http://www.bgundead.com), but realize that you will also have to click on another link on that site to register for any of our upcoming games (to be posted as they are planned).  Our next planned HvZ game will be this coming spring of 2010.

*To Cweed and other moderators of this site... I did not see any rules regarding the posting of links to other HvZ sites.  If this is incorrect, please reference me to them and feel free to edit my posts as-necessary to fix the infraction.  As a fellow forum administrator, I know how much of a hell it can be to run one of these forums.  Congrats on the awesome work thus-far!*

Hey everybody, I'm Mason, member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2013 (Aaaaaa!), and one of the two founders of TAMU HvZ, the other one being my roommate. We held our first game this past semester in mid-November with 342 players, and held our second game in the beginning of December, this time with 610 players. We're planning on having many more games next semester, as well as in the years to come.

This game has been incredible, and I'd like to thank the students at Goucher college who started this back in '05. You guys are awesome.

I'm a freshman at Ivy Tech in Lafayette right now, and I plan on attending the second game that Purdue is holding. I'm trying to set up a squad for the game, and thus far seem to be doing a decent job.

HvZ is something that is right up my alley, and I've been interested in live combat simulation for a long, long time. I've also been interested in zombies for a long, long time, so this sort of thing is perfect.

Hope to exchange many ideas in the next few weeks

I plan to be involved with all of the games we have, and I am currently working on an intense 24hr game to be started in a few months. Hey, so my name is Sabo, and I will be playing my fourth game of Humans Vs Zombies at Ball State (Ball State's 6th game). I lead a squad of humans called the Hospitallers, and we're are ridiculously like-minded in being waaaaaay too into this game. Purdue HvZ players may recognize me and my guys as the "Ball State Guys" from the last two missions of their first game.

I can't not make ridiculously long posts. I must like hearing myself type or somthing.

My name is Ryan Evans and I also hail from Ball State University. This coming semester will be my third game. I led the Hospitallers before Sabo (him being my X.O. both times and having died quite ingloriously the second semester :P) and now serve under him as his sergeant. Purdue guys will remember me because I was the banner carrier during the final mission. It's not hard to miss a bearded man carrying a GIGANTIC flag on his back.

I essentially live and breath this game, it's like my anti-depressant. Also, I totally wish I was still in command so I could say it was me leading the Hospitallers. Damn it, Jack! :P

Hi, I'm Pietre Nordell from Ball State University, following the trend being set. I've participated in 4 of the 5 games played at BSU, and I'll be helping moderate the 6th game which will take place this semester.

HvZ has become a very important part of my life, amplifying even more as I shift from a player to moderator, and hopefully an administrator of my own game. As a player, I am more a Lone Wolf type, having never died outside of a group setting, and strongly preferring a "guardian angel" tactic instead of a "scout" tactic. Funnily enough, most of the playerbase doesn't remember me at all in the first games. That's just the way I liked it. I also rotate weapons frequently depending on the situation. ;)

I guess this is my attempt at reaching out to HvZ beyond the BSU-level. Thus far my only contribution to the game as a whole was writing the initial version of the current Wikipedia article for Humans vs. Zombies, but I'm sure I've got more to offer. I've actually read these forums alot, but after seeing many of my BSU cohorts coming here as well, I figured now was as good a time as any to officially bring myself here.

HvZ started it, but the Urban Gaming League of BSU has several NERF gun activities, so I have become an extensive modder and have a bit of a NERF addiction. I have a ridiculous amount of NERF weaponry and experience modding. At the moment, my babies are my dark-blue painted Fully-Modded Longshot, my dark-blue Extended Brass-Barrel Raider. I also seek out and collect rare weapons, such as the clear Maverick and the Exclusive-Red Longshot, both of which have seen active usage as well. And wouldn't you know it, I pride myself on being one of the first to acquire weapons to test as well. I was the first at BSU to have the Raider and Raider Clip, the first with a Longstrike (and the first to mod it), and one of the first to acquire a Deploy (though I may have trashed it trying to mod it... hehe)... and a second Deploy. :D

I don't buy non-NERF stuff. I agree completely with the old "It's NERF or nothin'" motto. ;)

So yeah, whatever I can offer, man, I'm here. Hit me up, ask me questions, and I'll see what I can do to help you out, and I'm always open to discussion and debate. :D

Hello Everyone,

My name is Alex. I go by Prez both online and off. I was AZ of Ohio Northern University's first game and am currently both a moderator and the Zombie coordinator. I have been working heavily to get a printable, distributable Zombie tactics guide out to the general public for this spring. Other things under consideration include a Human tactics guide, a Missions guide, and possibly a "Simple Mods" guide. I hope to become involved in the greater national discussion of Humans vs Zombies.

I hope it works out!  I go to Indiana University in Bloomington

Hey everybody. My name is Collin and I go to the University of Wisconsin - Madison. I'm not really sure how long the game has been at our school but I'm glad I found it. My brother has been playing since fall 2009 and he's under the name Shepard. He encouraged me to play and now that my class load is a bit lighter (being a junior and all) I decided to get into the next round.

I chose the name Denton, for obvious reasons if you have played the game, because Deus Ex is my #1 favorite game of all time and I love the persona that the Dentons (Paul and JC, not so much Alex) created as they interact with their world. Part professional, part peacemaker, part warmonger, and part savior; certainly there are many more allegories that could describe the character. But I'm not here to get into a philosophical discussion about the game, go to the Planet DX Forums if you want that.

I've wanted to do something like this since I first came to college and I'm glad I finally decided to go ahead with it. I'm currently playing around with my Nerf arsenal but I had a bunch of guns from not too long ago that just never got used so I'm glad they finally have an exciting purpose.

Hope to see some Sconnies on the battlefield...

Hey, My name is Ben "The Ninja" Clifford. Got the nickname in the game for my ability to stalk and sneak up on humans as a zombie and the inverse ability to encounter low amounts of zombies as a human when I'm not hunting. I also have a ninja mask, which helped drive the nickname home. I have been playing for 3 games at my college (only missed the first one cause i was a freshman and didn't know jack). I built up my arsenal over the past few semesters, and I may not buy to many other guns, unless nerf comes out with a more BAMF gun than the Rapid Fire CS-20.

I'm an art student, which makes carrying a portfolio and the guns a task. I'm working on several posters for use in the games at Kutztown University. I do illustration, mainly. My DeviantArt page can be found here: http://benjamoid.deviantart.com/ (http://benjamoid.deviantart.com/)

give me a cat and i am happy.

Heeeey!!

Can't believe it took me this long to actually register on this site...should have done this ages ago. In any case! My name is Bonnie, I'm one of the Colorado State University officers for HvZ. I've been with the game almost since its inception at my school fall semester 2009, became a moderator randomly because I hung out with the kids who put it together at the table they had on the plaza for hours on end (they were just that cool XD ). I absolutely love this game; I've met some of the coolest people I've ever known playing HvZ as well as my boyfriend, so there's a lot to love! I've played in the two games we've had thus far and am already registered to play in the game we have coming up in a couple weeks. I've also school hopped to CU Boulder and played a couple days in their game. What can I say? it's pretty much epic.

I only wish this game had some to CSU sooner! I'm graduating in a year :'(

I'm Vincent Incarvite from Penn State University Park.  I've played 6 games of HvZ (2 five-weekers, 1 three-weeker, 2 two-weekers, & the Invitational), and I've helped run 4 games of HvZ (1 three-weeker, 1 forty-eight-hour, 2 twelve-hour).

After a failed attempt at using a Nerf Blaster, I've turned to socks.  My usual equipped arsenal includes 10 socks on my bandoleer, 3 socks in each hand, 2 fanny packs with 8 socks each, and 20+ socks in my pockets.  I sew my socks so they don't unravel.

As a Zombie player, I've lasted a five-week game with 48-hour starvation timers when I was turned on day two of pregame, and I've OZed once.  I prefer to be a Zombie, but I enjoy challenging myself to survive as long as possible against the intense PSU Zombie Horde.

Hiya, I'm Elissa age 19 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I've played two games so far, stayed human for both minus a brief zombie stint due to a mistake, and I'm hoping that a third one happens. I love the game and plan on hanging about here for more tips and tricks from the pros.

Hiya, Im Tyler, from Erie, PA.
I'm in high school, and I just found out about HvZ and wanted to play the moment I read about it.
I plan on going to The Art Institute of Pittsburg for college and I hope that there will be a game going on there by the time I get there.

Hi, I'm 15 and am from Victoria, Australia. I heard about HvZ a  little while ago and have just registered. I love zombie related things, I own several zombie flicks and games as well as the zombie survival guide. Yet to buy WWZ. Looking to start up some games in my relatively remote region.
My current armoury consists of a modded/painted maverick and a fez. Going to buy a raider any day soon.
Anyway Hi!  ;)

I'm Rachel, and I'm a moderator (and a junior) at SUNY New Paltz.  We're going into our second year of HvZ.  I was an OZ at the first ever Penn State Invitational and at Come Out and Play, so it goes without saying that I've got a soft spot for the undead.  I ended up writing a photodocumentary essay on the invitational for one of my finals...and I totally got an A- on it.

My favorite part about HvZ is that it makes college a lot more enjoyable.  It adds all kinds of craziness to everyday life, and it gives students the chance to just go outside and run around.  I especially love that it brings people together.  A lot of students who play at New Paltz end up making tons of new friends, and although our University Police Department might not like us too much, the game really brings a great sense of community to the campus.

Hello everyone, I totally shoulda have posted here sooner (even though I'm fresh outta the oven)

I'm Zach, I currently go to Davis and Elkins college in little, Elkins WV and spend alot of time traveling here and there. I helped "referee" and create a small HvZ game at AB college last year and also this year. the game is sweet, and everyone likes it so far but few people really know of it. I really enjoy playign this because I learned I have alot of free time in school and this is something much better to direct my time to (not to mention give me a HELL_BENDING workout. I hope to participate in any other schools games when I get the chance (and my car fixed). :)

I'm Doctor Zedacon. I only started reading last night, so I'm still entirely new here. I'm still somewhat new to HvZ in that I've never played at any colleges, just locally organized games at parks and such, and only a handful of the those. I should be going to Georgia Tech next year if everything goes as planned though. Anyway, I want to get more involved if at all possible, and this is assuredly the best place.

Hello all.
I am Scott and I attend Western Kentucky University as a computer science/mathematics double major.
I have always loved zombie lore and such, so when I heard about HvZ I jumped right on it.
I have one game of HvZ under my belt and am anxiously waiting our second game that starts on the 25th of this month!
Last semester was our school's first game and I was a moderator that game and am continuing to mod for this game, I find it great fun to be apart of the inner workings of the game.

Name's Demetri, and I attend Longwood University. I played a few minigames of HvZ before I came here, so it wasn't too difficult of an adjustment. My weakness is my love of shotguns and sidearms. I put aside more practical weapons for them almost every time because I love them so much. Guess I've still got a lot to learn.

Hello, or in my part of the world it may be a bit more proper to say Howdy partners.  My name is Scott, I'm from this place called Arizona, which is sadly barren of HvZ games. That is until recently when in my previous school I helped started a nerf organization. We had epic matches of assassins and one ultimate round of a modified game of HvZ. Sadly though  this lovely thing called college hit, and although many of my friends made it to a campus that could potentially host an amazing HvZ game in northern Arizona there hasn't been any action yet

I on the other hand am biding my time, eventually going; and if necessary starting up a HvZ club in a university. I've been guilty of lurking here for several months, and I've finally decided to create an account; that is all that comes to mind at the moment.

I think there's a game at Arizona State University's Polytechnic Campus, judging by the Cloverfield documentary they put together. Then again, maybe they just really like making HvZ videos, and don't have enough players to make a full game. You should look them up and find out.

I'm an amateur modder here. My university (Cal Poly Pomona) banned nerf guns a long time ago. I play smaller games in my community in OC. I'm planning on starting a weekly thread or something on gun stats and commentary, but that all depends on how interested I feel about it. I'm also a board game creator/publisher and I have a board game called Zombie Holdout that is largely inspired by ZvH. Looking forward to posting!

Hello all,

My name is unimportant (although if you must know, it's Solomon) :P I have several nicknames within the game, such as the Friggin' Jedi, the Ranger from the North (Ranger for short), and most recently, the Hawk. I prefer the last one most :P

Anyhoo, I completed my third HvZ round this semester, playing as an in-game moderator, and have participated in numerous Nerf Wars that our college also does.

In all three rounds, I have survived until the final mission, perhaps by skill, perhaps by luck...let the historians figure that one out. I hail from SUNY Geneseo, and you may have seen our trailer in the contest for the video - I'm in it multiple times, once as the zombie ninja-jumping off a tree and another time as a human doing a roll to get a gun. So yeah, now you know what I look like :P

I am interested in the experiences of others on this forum, so I may start up a new thread for War Stories, if there is not one already.

Stay safe, stay strong, stay human.

Hey, my name is John, I live in Texas and my formerly passive interest in HvZ is now becoming an active interest.  A friend of mine was in Atlanta around the time HvZ was being created and has a whole slew of nerf guns.  We got into it one night, just shooting each other at point blank range, even my wife got into it.  After that I realized that I need to get into HvZ and have some more fun.

Looking forward to the Jan 1st game, may have to work and since I don't know all of the rules as of yet, concerning leaving and returning to the game, I want to participate if possible.

Second one on the African continent, and it wouldn't have been possible without all your help and experiences. We still would have played, but not nearly this big. I'm hoping to draw enough attention to get more people to start their own games. We are even working on a petition to get the shops here to sell proper Nerf blasters. This game is epic; the positive effects it has are incalculable. Thank you.

What a great site! My name is Chris and I am currently trying to talk some friends in to organizing a weekend long HvZ event here in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. In addition to that, we are wanting to add full on Adult Nerf Wars. We all agreed that had HvZ existed during our school years (mid 90s through early 00s), we would have spent an extra semester or five at the University of North Texas.

My Nerf War experience goes beyond just refereeing my young cousin's Nerf Battles (which always break down in to my brother-in-law and I going after the Jr. High brats with our Stampedes!). Before moving back to Texas, I would participate in after hours Blaster battles with other store managers in the corridors of a very upscale Washington D.C area mall (If you are in the NoVA, D.C, MoCo area, the name of the mall rhymes with Dysons Malleria).

Over the past couple of years, my Nerf collection has grown from a simple, un-modded Maverick to a nice sized arsenal that resides in several Rubbermaid bins in the office...which my wife loves  ::)

I hope to report back soon on a successful first HvZ outing.

I found out about HvZ when the great Josh Evans brought it to SCAD in Savannah my freshmen year. I have left SCAD (for reasons that are for another story) but have been able to come back for this years game.
I have been hooked since playing my first time, and now because of it I have a slight compulsive buying problem when it comes to Nerf blasters. I finally got onto the forums as of Nov. 2010 and I'm glad I did. Thank you to the founders of this amazing game and to the mods of the site for keeping it up and running (and not full of spam and crap) :D

Greetings!! My name is Michael and I'm a 14 year old home schooled teen looking into getting into some HvZ. I actually heard about HvZ on NerfHaven and browsing around news websites. Hoping to make some friends with HvZ because of the homeschooling I'm socially isolated and what's worse is that I moved from San Diego to Las Vegas in January so all I've been doing every day for the last few months is just get my homeschooling work done then go on the Xbox for the rest of the day. I'm currently emotionally confused, I swear I'm depressed and I have a lot of emotions going around right now, probably because of the social isolation. For right now the only social interaction I get is Mondays and certain periods of the month where I'm in my Civil Air Patrol meetings and events in CAP, currently I'm taking classes to become certified as a ground team member for Search and Rescue missions.
Well that's all I think there is, it's 2 AM here and I need to hit the pillow, farewell and happy Nerfing/zombie slaying! ;)

Hi, I'm Rick, out of Marin County, CA. I'm just a 24yr old college kid (taking the slow path to a degree, for sure).

I've heard a little bit about HvZ off and on over the years, but upon spontaneously buying a small cache of Nerf blasters (and Nerf warring with my friends) I decided to finally look into this phenomenon.

Conclusion? I'm clearly missing out on the best college experience ever. I attend Santa Rosa Junior College, and there's no game up there (And I live 25mi from campus) and I have no idea how I'd go about joining one. Seems like the East half of the USA has way more fun with this then us left-coasters.

I won't lie when I say I'm seriously considering transferring to UC Davis just because I know they play HvZ there  ;D

Chris Rook from Tampa, FL coming in, but you can just call me Rookie. Transferring to USF for next year, figured 3 years of CC is enough and time to move onto the real deal. Played my first game of HvZ this past semester because, in an effort to raise numbers, USF made theirs open to everyone, and not just students. Became hooked on the game from the get go. Best part about where I live, college is right across the road from my apartment.

I'm Peter Bryan, hailing from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI, at least for the moment.  I fight zombies (and humans) with SCIENCE!, as evidenced by my dual labcoats, and sit on our game's Council of Thirteen (the creative and administrative force of the game), this particular game going by the moniker "Zombies Versus Humans", due to historical reasons I'm only partially clear on (nominally, zombies are cooler than some dude with a gun).  The full history and circumstances aren't totally pertinent here; I'm mostly curious to see how other games function and run, and I'm happy to share stories and ideas, as they might come up, especially as I'm liable to move on to other pastures soon enough, and this is a concept I'd like to bring with me...

Howdy ya'll.

I'm Betamax, from the University of Toledo.  I made this account some time ago but I never got around to the whole "Welcoming Wagon" thing.  I've played in two HvZ games, the second of which I was actually one of the Admins.  HvZ is new to UT and none of us have actually played a whole lot before, but we've been able to have two very successful games so far.  I'm actually in charge of the Fall 2011-Spring 2012 Humans vs Zombies games here at UT, so you'll probably see me a bit more around the forums. We also have our own site, it's http://ut-adhoc.com/ (http://ut-adhoc.com/) Our organization is UT-AdHoc.  We have some stuff from our last game, so feel free to check it out!

Hey everybody, I'm a long time lurker and first time poster.

I am a 4 HvZ game vet at THE Ohio State University, and I've been playing since our first game.  Made it to the final mission in both spring games, and died late game in both fall games.  My policy is more gun=more survival; and I have gone from dying in my final mission from ripping the firing pin of my borrowed maverick and not being able to defend myself, to the profile picture load out that I am about to post (3 raiders, Quick 16, AS-20, 2 barricades, a heavily modded NF, and a secret strike.)  I am an officer in That One Squad (or TOS if you want to avoid the joke) and love playing HvZ!

Hello all, I, like some others have been lurking for quite sometime. I've posted a bit but not much and I felt now was a good time to introdunce myself,

I'm Greg Chafin from Reinhardt University in GA, I started and run the Game at RU as its Head Mod. Since our start in Nov '09 we've played 8 games, I've stepped down and played as a regular player for 3 of those games, One of which I was a OZ, One I won the game with my First Mate Mod, and another I died midweek. So I've seen nearly all sides of the game both as a mod and as a player, I also put together the RU HvZ Southeastern Invitational, which I believe some people like Bobololo attended and it went very well.

As we approach our 2 year anniversary I am constantly looking for new ideas to make the game fresh and unique in terms of plot and missions. And I look forward to posting with you all! :D

Hey all,

I'm Cameron Gaunt and I'm a student at Berea College, a small private school in Kentucky. The HvZ game there started up in Spring '08 (Fall 07 technically) and I've played in every week-long game held (7 so far) and several minigames. My squad consists of much but not all of the 'local talent' and we're known for being hellraisers.

Starting in April, a few friends and I started hosting one-day minigames to drive up interest in the game and to test out experimental game mechanics. Fast forward to now, where we're a little more experienced and thus all the more anxious. I've been lurking this site for a little while and I find the convergence of ideas in some places to be hilarious; who would've thought other schools had 'strike teams' and 'noodlers'? Anyway, you guys have been a great resource just through the passive absorption of ideas and I'm eager to contribute just as much as what I take from the great HvZ knowledge pool (speaking of which, here's an article I wrote on the first minigame I ran: http://2secondcamper.com/2011/04/19/autopsyhumans-vs-zombies-berea-college-ky/).

If anyone has any helpful advice for boosting numbers without going through official student orgs (we don't want upper meddling)?

Hay all,

My name is Trina St John I am from Boston and looking to head out west for school this year after a few semesters here. I hear chatter about this on campus but when I looked up zombie stuff I found this at, Necropology.com. My head has been a chatter since I read it. Can we do the black hole thing they have? That would be outrageous!! I want to organize if I can. I just need to find folks to do HvZ.

Good day to all.

I'm Josh, a junior at Purdue. I'm currently helping lead mission design for the third semester in a row. Before that I was a moderator for a semester and a player before that. I am an outspoken Zombie sympathizer. I believe that's why I love designing missions so much, it's all about figuring out how to lead human players to their doom while making them think they're having fun. Haha. I'm also probably one of the few persons on this forum who couldn't care less about modding my nerf blasters (Zombies don't need nerf blasters).

I like talking logistics and new features for the game. I like to stretch the bounds of what the game allows.

Outside of HvZ I like Soccer, Frisbee, and webcomics of many varieties. I used to do write poetry, although that's been set aside for Electrical Engineering coursework.

I'm Kristen, member of and Charity Chairwoman of the Penn State University Urban Gaming Club (my task is to organize and run events that raise funds for charities). I'll be a senior at PSU this fall, and I have played or participated in HvZ in some way for each semester of college. I've also proudly played in both PSU Invitationals, and have made many a friend from other schools through doing so. So... hi to you all! I'm very excited to start browsing around on here, and to meet more of you lovely humans and zombies... well, ok, mostly the zombies <3

Hello all,

My name is Adam Durchholz, long time lurker here.  I got into HvZ two years ago while attending Western Michigan and seeing dormates getting ready for it.  Sadly all my nerf was home in Illinois.  That week I took apart more Maverick and Recons than I could count.  My first game was blowgun, socks and an occasional loaner.  It worked running around, taking potshots, traveling light with some friends. I was hooked fast.

Hey guys,

Name's Geoff, I am currently a freshman attending the University of Missouri-Columbia(Mizzou).  Mizzou has been doing small abridged games, going to be putting on a few single mission games all in preparation for the week long HvZ event.

This will be my first year participating in HvZ and I am truly excited.  I am currently in the market for a blaster(preferably $20 or under, play style is unimportant as I can adapt to many styles).

I have been pouring over the forums learning all the info I can.

Can't wait to start this up!

I just joined the forum because I had my first day at college on Monday. I am a Law And Business student all the way from across the Atlantic in Trinity. I come from Ireland but am actually Russian and am trying to start my schools first ever HvZ game. I am just getting into modding, and am only doing simple stuff right now. Also, if anybody has a stock firefly that they are willing to sell then I would happily buy it.
Also, check out my YouTube channel. Just search bootknife142.

I hope that we can make HvZ a great and fun experience at my school.

If I ever manage to convince the teachers at my school the hvz done will have to be part of a school club. Which means I will have to hand over the game to a teacher who will probably ruin the game for us, sigh, life sucks here in Chicago.

I'm currently hoping to find some groups in my area that might play off campus. I'm 31 and my college days are behind me now, but I am very interested in the game, plus I could use the exercise.haha

Anyway, as I said I'm a huge zombie fan and I'm into gaming of all types, Anime, and ya know pretty much all the nerdy stuff.

Heyo everyone!

My name's Ashley and I'm a sophmore here at Ohio Northern University.  We had some problems in the fall and so our week-long game got cancelled, but I hosted a weekend mini-game to make up for it ^.^ I got a lot of information from this site to help me haha

Due to the problems in the fall, the old officers decided it would be best to just revamp everything, so elections were held and I became President. Our club was never an official university organization, and that was the root of our problems.  We new officers just finished rewriting everything in our constitution and bylaws, and if everything goes well we'll get through and officially become ONZA, Ohio Northern Zombie Apocalypse (I really like the name XD). If everything goes REALLY well we'll get through quickly and get to have our week-long spring game =D Fingers crossed!

Hello, HvZ Community. I've heard of the official HvZ game before, but only decided to join the forum after watching some Bobololo videos where he mentioned the forum.

I'm Kyhan (pronounced with a soft "a"), AKA "KyhanGJR" throughout the internet (if you google "Kyhan," you will find that my deviantart page is the first SECOND result. It was the first a few months ago when I last checked). I've been nerfing/modding nerf guns for only two years now, and have (after a dreadful few weeks) begun to get a little more hardcore about it.

I'm 21, and I'm hoping maybe to be able to convince the other Nerfers during my last year of college to get a decent HvZ game going, with all the ropes (bandanas, actual rules for what is allowed/banned, way for humans to win).

In the past, the only HvZ variant I've ever played starts as a 3-team deathmatch (2 human teams and a single zombie), where each player has 3 lives before they become a zombie (the zombie auto-infects) and is played until there are no humans left. It's pretty fun, until you realize it's all the current "Nerf Guild" wants to play (and with all the current crowd that plays it, it gets pretty bad, as you have 5 or 6 half-naked and possibly intoxicated juggernauts running at you, full speed, fists flailing).

Anyway, I hope to integrate myself into the community you guys have here, and possibly make some new friends.

Hello everyone! My name is Hudson and I am an avid HvZ player up at the University of Washington. I have a pretty good size collection of blasters to choose from in my arsenal (some that I have bought but a lot have been given to me by friends that don't want them anymore), but I prefer to use my modded Alpha Trooper for its rate of fire, size, and accuracy. Socks are also my best friend in those hairy situations. I hope my experiences as an HvZ player help those here but I also hope to learn something new from this experienced community of survivors!

I guess I have been too lazy to do this up until now, so here we go. Let me start by providing some background information. Hi, my name is Alexander Morton aka Alex aka Spartan2011. I'm from Keysville, Va, and I'm currently attending Longwood University in Farmville, VA as a sophomore as a major in history with a concentration in secondary education. Some interesting facts about myself is that I'm vice president of the Longwood chess team and I'm a member of fun, but serious teacher program called Call Me MISTER (and I'm being serious about the name too, MISTER=Men Instructing Students Toward Effective Role models).

I got into hvz when a friend of mine from the chess club told me about it while we was at d-hall during the first semester of my freshman year. My first game I was one of those Maverick-wielding newbies who thought he was pretty cool running around with a revolver as a primary  8)  ;D; because I had fun that game, I started to play hvz when ever I get the chance, and I have become a shopoholic when it comes to nerf-related stuff (I'm trying not to buy any of the new elite stuff until a new alpha trooper/ snapfire 8 emerges, but it's so HARD!).

I bet all of you all are wondering why I call my "Spartan2011", like I'm some kind of badass or something. No, when I was signing up for an account on this forum, I wanted a user name that would portray the level of seriousness and committment I give to this game; because of this, I thought calling myself a "Spartan" would help to make myself sound as serious a player as the most hardcore players on this forum. The reason I include the number "2011" is twofold: I graduated high school as a part of the Class of 2011 and I started playing hvz in the YEAR 2011; cool huh? Plus, I love Halo so that is why I call myself "Spartan2011".

As of right now, my playing style encompasses being a skirmisher. I chose the alpha trooper due to the following criteria: it's reliable, it had a good track record, it's really ergonomic, it has a good, clean action, and it could accept any cs magazines I could afford to use. To me, these qualities makes the alpha trooper a very good candidate for being a skirmisher since in my mind a skirmisher must have as simple of loadout as possible. Below in my signature is my current loadout; I try to keep it updated as I add and remove equipment.

And as a side note, I have always wanted to start a thread where everyone explained their user name, but I didn't know where to put it at the time.   :P

You should. I honestly have no reason for my username, other than the fact that I like cookies.

I've never seen an "explain your username" thread before—on ANY forum I've ever been on. I'd like it.

Mine essentially was for an RP forum. I made a character, and thinking of a name that fit in with Dragon Ball Z universe stuff. I came up with "Kyhan." And from there, it stuck.

As it evolved, I've used "Kyhan" for numerous characters, including one I use to represent my "Inner Demon." A prime example is in this little comic (http://kyhan.deviantart.com/gallery/25292087) I made.

Wow, when I was thinking about it at first, I thought this was a stupid idea. Instead of a separate thread just to explain your username, how about everyone just do the explaining here in the welcome thread for everyone to see.

Hey, all.

My name's Jack and I'm from Washington.  I'm a fanatic for all things zombie, am a bit of a geek (video games, sci-fi, and fantasy), and tend to excessively use the word "moist" in conversations.

Not when it's unwarranted, but still...too much moist.

I'm John from Longwood University (now alumni), I have been playing for a few years now. For the most part I run with a Alpha Trooper equipped with a Raider stock. The gun has been very reliable for me giving me plenty of firepower in a compact, easily portable package. I attended invitationals at UMBC and Penn State in 2011. As some who were at those invitationals I was the guy dressed as Waldo from "Wheres Waldo." I would really like to see an HvZ program start up in the Virginia Beach area where I live, but Farmville, VA will always be my HvZ home.

Hi I'm Dwayne. Berkeley alum, now living in Seattle. I'll confess that I've never been in an HvZ (far as I can tell, it's never taken off in Berkeley), but I've been reading these forums for nerf gun modding information for a while now. Most of my nerf-slinging has been in office battles and duels at work, which is a very different dynamic than a zombie outbreak. That said, I'm interested in playing an HvZ, if you'll have me.

Hi, I'm Boff - I founded a group at Bristol University (UK) with a HvZ variant. HvZ was the inspiration for me getting into Nerf and we're looking to expand out to proper HvZ now we have an established group that does indoor events.

Hey, so I'm known as Deathwish. I'm part of the game at Royal Holloway College, UK, admittedly joining in time for the second game of the year.

Why Deathwish? I like to clear the tight corners and alleys by myself with no backup (not wise, but I haven't been turned doing this). This said, I made it to the final mission before everyone was turned.

Ou, now I would like to see this. It just so happens I have a few friends near Bristol, and I may need to visit the university, so I would be interested in seeing your set-up.

What is up HVZ forums,

I am a long time lurker, who finally decided join, as well as a newly appointed admin to Humans vs Zombies Melbourne. As a Mad Blaster Smith who is obsessed with automatic electric blasters, my philosophy is to spam foam and if that is not working spam foam harder.

Heyllote. I'm a Nerfer and Storyteller from Australia. I enjoy filming a War or HvZ as much as I do participating, though I am working on a rig to do both.

As for my username in late 2007 I was scratching my head for a gamertag when my brother randomly suggested Deathbynature. I liked the irony as it's uncommon to die naturally in a game. Like the End from Metal Gear Solid 3 where if you wait 2 weeks in the boss battle the End dies of old age. :P That is if you don't count gravity or getting eaten by animals.

Hi All!

I'm excited to be here!  I am Christine, and I am the Official Apocalypse Planning Diva (yep - it's a real title) for Zombie Run, LLC.  We organize and host 5k Zombie Themed Fun Runs all around the country.  I am here, not just because of a mutual interest in the walking dead, but also because we had the great fortune of hooking up with a HVZ group while hosting our run in Vermont.

The HVZ group approached us about running short HVZ games during our event to promote their own games.  It was a raging success!  The group gained TONS of new interest in their own games, and we had a fantastic response from our runners and families about how much fun it was!  With that said, our organization is SOLD on you guys!  We would love to incorporate other groups in our other events  as we move around the country!

Currently, we have runs scheduled for:
Gulfport, MS - April 6
Orlando, FL - May 4
Grand Rapids/Kalamazoo/Lansing, MI - TBD
St. Louis - TBD
Upstate NY - TBD
Washington DC Area - TBD

Zombie Run would love to touch base with local HVZ groups to see how we can make this happen!  We're happy to put you in touch with our HVZ contacts from the Vermont Run - so you can get a taste of how things went from their perspective!

We can be found at zombierun.com or www.facebook.com/ZombieRunLLC

Thanks so much!

Good day, folks! Longtime Nerfer, but now I want to try my hand at blastin' zambies. Trick is, I don't go to school. I imagine I can play even if I 'm not a a student, but, well... Crazier things have happened. I'm trying to join up with some of my more local groups. I'm on the HVZ source, so I'm looking around that way. Good times. I'll try not to do anything stupid and try have some fun here. Cheers!

I was recommended by a friend to join the site. While I don't exactly have a place to really partake in a HvZ game (community college student), I'm still very interested in it. Perhaps I will host a game in the future, but I'd rather start up a small Nerfing group at my local comic book store before going and tackling something bigger.

As far as Nerfing goes, I only own a few blasters; I'd love to get my hands on more gear for hosting that group as I mentioned before. I also am the head administrator/bureaucrat for the Nerf Wiki and I also help out on Nerf Mods & Reviews.

Aside from that, I do graphic design and web design (my major), play video games, surf the web, etc.

Hey.  I joined this site because of the HvZ Source, and before that because I heard about the Nerf Club guys talking about it.  So I googled it.
It's interesting even though I don't really own any 'weapons' (but to be fair, I'd probably be doing an avoid-dance most of the time anyway).  I'm looking to get into a game here at Boise State but I can't seem to find one that's open yet on the Source page, so I figured I'd say hi here.  There probably won't be anything until Spring anyway, lol.  Oddly enough I have my own camo bandanna, so I'm all set there it would seem.

I've been thinking of writing a Left 4 Dead style story recently so we'll see where that goes, as soon as I can figure out the format and whatnot.  I might not even have it be Left 4 Dead but an entirely separate setting.  So yes, I'm a writer.

As for the username, it's the pesterchum handle of an original character based in the Homestuck universe.  I'm not so obsessed that I cosplay but I suppose I am a fan since I am currently writing my own fan adventure on another forum.  lupus means wolf, fati is fate, doom, judgment, etc.  It does have a point in the story but I haven't gotten there yet.

Commissar Betamax, Adviser and assistant person to the HvZ coordination staff at the University of Toledo.  I used to be the coordinator (Long story >.>), but now I just sit on the sidelines and help out.  I also used to have an account here but I lost that information.  Eh.

I'm also the friendly, neighborhood Commissar.

Like some places, we go by our own name...kind of.  We call our game of Humans vs. Zombies "oUTbreak" mostly because we wanted to repackage it with a different name for the University Administrators, but it's still Humans vs. Zombies at heart.

I joined because i'm getting back into Humans vs. Zombies (Had to take a break), and I want to make sure UT's spring game is bitchin', and it always helps to connect with you glorious people about the game.

Row row, fight da powah.

Hey gang. My name is Griffin and I may be past my college years but my NERFing days are far from over. I'm in a handful of LARPs and such, (some boffer, some social,) but the main reason for my interest in HvZ is to possibly give the NERF wars here at the office a bit more flavor.

We are a relatively young company with a lot of employees that are right out of college and the NERF darts fly through the cube farm pretty regularly. We have had a few coordinated NERF events but I really think an organized HvZ event here would go over really well.

So, I'll be doing a bit of research, a lot of lurking, and putting in my two cents from time to time.

Howdie all,

My name is will and I am a medium to long time nerfer. I am just getting into HvZ and I am definitely looking for a game in the Puget Sound area. I am a student at EVCC, and a FF/ medic for my day job.  If any of you have any leads to a local game, please hit me up.

I'm Oznerfnerd in Australia.

I'm more of an armorer than a warrer, but love modding blasters.

I found my way on here through a couple of American associates, and while researching the Rapistrike.

Nice to meet you all.

Hi guys!
My name is Kendall and I'm the new Media Coordinator for SCAD HvZ. Got to work on designing the gameplay last year and I can't wait to head up the creative direction this year. So far, thumbing through the threads this place seems like an amazing resource, I can't wait to get to know it better!

Hi all! Name's Shannon, and I'm the Vice President and Head Zombie of the Northern Arizona University branch of HvZ, in Flagstaff Arizona. I was forced to sign up a year and a half ago by a friend, got offered to be an original zombie, and was suddenly thrown into the world of moderating (our old board of officers were, how you say, unorganized). The entire governing board of our game dropped off the face of the planet at the beginning of this last fall semester, so we're still scrambling to get back up on our feet. I can't wait to get some insights as to how other games are run :)

Also, as Head Zombie I've only ever played one game as human, and even then I stick to socks. I know how zombies work, I wouldn't be caught dead with a nerf blaster.

What's up, guys? I'm from West Virginia. Would love to know if there is anyone else out there from the southern WV area. I'm actually an older Nerf Fan. Been into it since my teens but I am now 30 and still love them just as much as then. I'm now a teacher of science. I'm also a published writer of children's fiction. I would love to know more about any Nerf organizations in my area if anyone is also from WV. I may have to organize a game here. As a teacher, I organized a Nerf competition a couple of years ago with about 40 participants, but it was a noncontact series of target shooting with the disk shooter that Nerf came out with (like skeet) and the Nintendo Wii game and some other point competitions with teams. I am often constrained to playing dart tag with my family members and friends during family reunions and things. I've included a few pictures. I'm the guy on the right in the black Nerf shirt. My wife is the girl with the Nitron. BTW, all of the Nerf blasters you see are mine! Hope to spend many days at this forum and perhaps get something Nerf started.
