THE LONGSHOT IS BACK, BITCHES!!!

No mention of increased ranges, comes with a 12rd mag, no bipod, the charging handle might be on the right side only if the box art and image of the blaster are accurate, and will be a Target exclusive when its stateside

Soooooo, new shit: Baidu leaked the Slingfire internals.

Neat stuff. Since the stock is detachable, you could potentially master-key this thing. Any serious modding on this is going to require metal gears, though.

Continuing my never-ending quest to find new ways of carrying mags on the cheep, I bring you this:

Iams dog biscuits box. Dimensions are 4in. x 7.5 in. x 12 in. It can comfortably hold 9 18rd clips or 2 35rd drum mags.

Could be useful for defense missions, or maybe if you're in a squad you could tape it to someones backpack.

I have another one that is very similar, as a guy at my games makes them and sells them for $5.

What a bro. Also, I wholeheartedly approve of the dart holders.

Gallon-size plastic bags for storage.

For carrying, CPVC rings on the blaster if I'm using something with an internal clip or turret, in a bag on my belt if I'm using something with a mag.

I'm diggin' the safety measures, nice work!

I'm just glad we're not seeing the same copy and pasted inverse plunger design anymore. Copy and pasted flywheels and direct plungers, hell yeah.

Interested to see how that underslung launcher works. Its sounds like its pull-and-release, just backwards.
8  Organizing / Fight for Your Right (to Party) / Re: Forming a 501c3 nonprofit for HvZ? on: December 27, 2013, 06:55:34 PM
Late to the party, my apologies.

With that $300 app fee, how often would you be paying it, and how much effort are you guys willing to exert to not have to pay it?

If a HvZ organization wanted to obtain 501(c)(3) status, it would be under Section 509(a)(2).

You would be required to file a 990-N every year, which isn't too terribly complicated. You can file it over the internet, even.

You do need to have bylaws, as well as a formerly elected president/director, secretary, and treasurer.

If you want to pursue this route, you probably want to talk to someone at the IRS first. There is an IRS office in Camarillo.

9  Playing / Equipment & Toys / Re: Melee Gun? on: October 31, 2013, 03:36:40 PM
I have never opened up a nerf sword or any other brand before. Would it be possible to take out the care piece, replace it with some pve, and have a blow gun sword?

I believe it is possible, that said the sword then becomes too stiff to use for melee.

Human melee in HvZ is one of those YMMV deals where different schools have different stances on it.
10  Playing / Equipment & Toys / Re: Modifying Darts..... on: October 15, 2013, 04:56:04 PM
That's a new one, to me at least.

Covering up the hole on streamlines with a bit of tape helps.

Nope, not without a shitcannon or some other airgun with a large volume. The dart is just too wide.
12  Playing / Equipment & Toys / Re: The Nerf New Gun Thread, 2013 edition on: October 02, 2013, 06:33:15 PM
Top loading, I think. Very similar to the Quick 16/Speedload 6.
13  Playing / Equipment & Toys / Re: Mega Centurion Mod Guide on: October 01, 2013, 01:36:55 AM
As I mentioned on the Nerf Modders FB page, the German kit is ~54 USD, not including shipping, which is ridiculously expensive as well.

Yeah, the only real downside to this forum is the tech problems, but that should hopefully get resolved soon enough.

Everybody being college-aged and the larger number of engineering majors certainly helps to keep this forum awesome. I think our loose-enough rules also are a big plus.
