1  Playing / Equipment & Toys / Re: So please tell me my faults in my loadout on: June 15, 2015, 12:58:51 AM
Coming from a person who carries about 9 blasters on him at his local college HVZ I can give you some advice on heavy load outs.

The first piece of advice is if it does not serve a purpose do not use it.  In my loadout I use a nerf bandoleer to carry my Alpha Trooper.  On it I have a sling stike.  Most people would say why bother having that because I carry two strong arms, a jolt, and a double strike.  The reason is I have the clip to put it on, so why not and its fun to shoot. As long as you train in your gear you will be fine.  I do not know how big the games you will be playing are, but I would also recommend ditching the 35 drum and just using all 18 mags.  I use a Duct tape holder made out of just paper and duct tape and it holds four very well and has not broken.  that way you can carry more darts and do not have to deal with a bulky drum.  Flywheel blasters are also superior to spring blasters in every way.  It is very sad for m to admit that but it is true.  you may want to replace the retaliator with a stryfe with a raider stock.  The only mods it really needs is lock removal.  Even without mods it is still really nice.  I think its cool that you have the tek3 but the nerf elite triad would probably be a better blaster instead of it.

Hope this helped.  Sorry that I kinda picked apart all of it.  Do what you want I have just found that with a heavy loadout with alot of blasters that all of them need a purpose and if there is a blaster that is better then what u have and done the same thing use the better version.

The citadel paints from games workshop work really well on blasters.  You can buy them at most games stores or at  The color names are a little weird because they were meant for fantasy models.  Its still a good idea to take apart the blaster and put a base primer on it.  If you want more info send me a message

I think I am actually going to use a different load out.  Still the two stryfes, then a white retaliator, rampage, 25 drum, 35 drum, 3 18 mags, 2 fire strikes and a jolt.  Surprisingly carrying all that doesn't restrict my movement that much because the drums will be held on my back pack, while everything else is velcroed into place so they don't move around as much.  just by chance what university do you go too.  I will back away if I don't think I can handle it but most cases I usually can handle.

I like heavy gear I'm really big so the weight doesn't bother me we don't have a lot of players maybe about 100 or so but I gained the nick name of the walking arsenal because I was armed to the teeth and I always have someone watching my back in my squad what I'm thinking about using in my next game is a rampage then two stryfes in holsters on my back pack a strong arm clipped to my belt and a triad and jolt then two 18 clips 25 drum a 12 clip and 10 clip and then a box of throwing darts

i have the rampage on a rope bandolier and i have holsters for the stryfes and i may or may not carry the demolisher because i am still determining whether i like it or not i can be a lot of weight but it doesn't hinder me the way i have it set up

we tried that they think that players will not understand that only the magnus is allowed and they guy in charge just doesn't like using mega blasters in general so that is another reason why he doesnt want people using them

Hi i was wondering what gear, blasters and attachments and accessories does everyone bring for HvZ.

I have been researching tac vests and idk if I should use the nerf tac vest or use like a air soft or military tac vest because there are a few surplus stores near me.   Also any other gear that you use to hold darts and clips.  I'm 6 ft 4 about 300 lbs.  The blasters that i mainly use are Rampages, 2 Stryfes and a demolisher.  My school doesnt allow any modes to our blasters and i just want to look super decked out because my nick name form my first game is "the walking arsenal" i earned that name because i would escort humans to class and loan them blasters if they need them

So I am a student at the University of Arkansas at fort smith (UAFS) and our campus activities board (CAB) doesn't like the idea of mega darts because the bow and the centurion are to big to be concealed in buildings  which is understandable but they wont let me use the magnus because they say they cant ban two blasters from a line without banning the whole line of nerf blasters.  does anyone have any suggestions on how i can get them to allow the mega dart blasters.  also same with the demolisher they wont allow the nerf missile because its not a "standard" nerf dart size.  They also dont allow any of the vortex blasters but none of us really care that we cant use those because none of us have them.
