1  Organizing / Fight for Your Right (to Party) / Re: Highschool having administration trouble on: October 27, 2009, 10:46:30 am
by hardcore i meant, i had a huge stock up of highschool students that wanted to play (and did technically). it was a huge fanclub, and it might have been one of the only sucsessful highschool HVZ gatherings. i will keep the reference to dart blaster in mind while i put up the argument, but the VOTECH center truely beleives that its evil, and its some devil force thing, its not making much sense. thyere just trying to say no just to say no.
2  Playing / Equipment & Toys / Re: Official NERF Tag League? on: September 24, 2009, 09:03:00 am
I would say the same thing. its like a lazer taggish nerf dart competition from HELL ( in the good way) i think its good to keep kids active and out of alot of other stuff, along with learning about teamwork and pocketing some cash if theyre lucky.

Hey HVZ!
It's been a long summer full of surprises... good and bad.
I've been working on getting my game cleared at my high school this year.
However it has been my great displeasure to be informed that my school admins have shut it down.
Why you ask? Didn't we play last year?
yes, yes it was, but for some reason it was "passed under the radar".

We have TWO administrations, the VOTECH administration and my highschool administration. The people i cleared it with was the HIGHSCHOOL, but not the votech.)

The highschool said it was fine, but the VOTECH administration says its "people killing other people, even with nerf guns."

Currently, to fix the problem I'm setting up a petition to the already big fanbase at my school to help get the game restored.  Even the website is blocked on certain computers.
Everything is still in the works.

OY, I'm soooooo ready for college. Because of RUGBY and the other college courses I'm taking prior to going to college, I have been unable to be part of the HvZ community.

THATS MY CURRENT ISSUE. Do any of you HvZ gnarites have any advice?  It would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I think that I was the first to get a good, hardcore viable HVZ fan base at my school... I
think... someone please confirm this so I can use it in one of my argument with the administration.

Edit:  Joe: I edited the fuck out of your post... I hope it reads better.

As another highschool HVZ organizer, i think that a mini game around school grounds does more than just a "test" as you say. It gives you experience ( you know that) it gives you PR (you probably knew that too) but if it goes badly, the administration is going to notice, but if it goes well, their going to be more willing to your idea's. PLAN IT WELL. it could be sink or swim.
5  Playing / Equipment & Toys / Re: Question about Weapons on: March 26, 2009, 09:33:26 am
messy, very very messy. it really depends on where your going to play it too, because if ur in a building, and the marshmellows explode, that will be a horrible mess that you will need to clean up. not to mention " exploding" sounds dangerous, like some sort of "explosive" that would splatter the marshmellows. i suggest no, for those reasons amoung many others more people will probably post.

anothermain issue is that this game is supposed to be secondary to your regular life, so i could see some minor ethical issues comming up about this. ( thats just my view)

Me and a friend of mine made a mini-info giude on HVZ that we are going to present during our next meeting. It was dont quickly, and its isnt spectacular, but it gave us something to do on an afternoon with no homework. ( we missed alot, i know)

12  Organizing / High School and Middle School Games / Re: High School Game Attempt: setup questions on: March 17, 2009, 09:41:35 am
A good trick when your talking to High School admins is to mention all of the good benefits, and dont mention the bad, unless they ask questions concerning what could go wrong. when i was talking to my Administration, i mentioned all of the good things, and what i was going to do to prevent any bad activity. ( like having people sign safety waivers so they wouldnt be responsible). REMEMBER to mention that it is a light hearted game, and thats all it is.
13  General / HvZ General / Re: Missions on: March 13, 2009, 09:38:17 am
Currently my HVZ high school game "club" ( because the actual game cant start wiithout good PR so i started to advertise it by making it into an after school "club") are planning on making missions near some of our houses. we are in rural areas, and we have lots of land ( whats even more convienitent it that we are all CONNECTED proterty wise, so my land is next to so and so's land etc.) ive cauculated that this can be an awesome hold the fort game for a day, and was wondering if anyone had any idea's about it? ( our combined land mass is about 30+ acres.)

15  General / HvZ General / My Newspaper article on: March 04, 2009, 02:43:49 pm
i was voted in on my school to write up a explanation on what i was doing for a web design project, so i was asked to keep an update on it on the forums, because it was about HVZ. i will post the article when it comes out. ( if they decide to accept it) for now i will just submit a picture of the front page the paper is going to use....
