1  Playing / Equipment & Toys / Rampage sprialing and fishtailing darts? on: November 22, 2012, 07:21:18 PM
I put a doubleshot spring into my AR removed Rampage, and when I went outside to fire it the (elite) darts didn't go anywhere near where I was aiming, and fell short of my fence about 60' away. They have a tendency to go down and either to the left or right, and it's really annoying. It's fine for HVZ but I'm a range-whore and I want to get the best performance out of this, any idea how to fix the problems I've got?

Toruk, ranges will STILL be needed to be recorded, muzzle velocity won't mean shit to game moderators  at the game site questioning the legality of your blasters. As for sharing your data online people will always have variances in darts, plunger seal, spring power, and fit of the barrel on the darts, so  your FPS results will pretty much only be for your blaster in your conditions. If you're using it for barrel lengths then there's still the problem with temperature, dart fit, dart condition, and how the blaster is holding up that day (air guns NEVER work consistently 24/7/365, you'll be best off keeping a box of barrels lying around and rough testing at the event site.)

Also, if anyone is ever looking for a new, well-balanced blaster to use in HVZ pick up a Rampage, they are the tits.

It's funny, every time I visit a college for HVZ or other reasons, people always ask me what I'm studying. This has happened to me at Calpoly, SFSU, and UCSC. Every time I tell them I'm just a Freshman the look on their face is priceless.

I'm a Freshman in High School and I've already been to an HVZ game at SFSU, only thing you've gotta look out for is age restrictions, since those are usually pretty strict.

So are you guys excited for the season 3 premier tomorrow? I sure as hell am, the trailer is fucking amazing and if you haven't seen it yet, WATCH IT HERE.
I love the whole part about Woodbury, especially after reading Rise Of The Governor.
Random thoughts:
It seems like Rick finally found his balls and brains, which is nice after seeing a lot of stupid moments through season 1 and 2
To me it seems like the whole soldiers crashing will be a little extra bit in each episode, probably about the one that survived trying to... well, survive. I'm really intrigued by that.
The combat seems like it's going to be much better, Riot Shields, a makeshift suppressor, and I could've sworn I saw Glenn wearing body armor...

"Now, how about a big hug for your ol' pal Merle?"

I have a nerf channel and I am very dedicated to my work. I do mods, reviews, wars, and more. I recently just got partnered and was hopping you could add me to the youtube forum. Thanks, NerfBoyProductions
You should give us a link to your youtube account, nobody wants to go and dig for it.

If you can get your hands on a panther or two, PICK THEM UP. They're well worth your money, small, light, compact, and get fantastic ranges stock.
8  Playing / Equipment & Toys / Re: A rather random idea: The flametrhower on: September 30, 2012, 03:48:57 AM
I've actually been thinking about making a flamethrower.  The best idea I got was filling a 5 gallon water jug with chopped darts (or a similar foam to save on cash) and attaching it upside down about midway down the tube of a leafblower.  Just stick some sort of valve on it, and open it whenever you want to unleash the pain.  Should result in a massive spray of dart pieces.  Only downside would be the cleanup afterwards.
Yeah, clean-up would be fucking impossible. I like my idea of a foam sprayer, you could essentially use something like what "foam parties" use, that can easily be brushed off, and isn't hard to clean.

Instead of shooting water, a high power jet of foam (not like the kind in darts, similar to bubbly foam from soap) would be better, since if you use the right materials it'll be easy to brush/wash off.

I finally finished my stampede! Just in time for tomorrow's game at SFSU Smiley
Damn dude, that thing kicked ass today!

You can already hit those ranges with simple modifications, and *gasp* NOT spend your money on OMW stuff!

Since this thread has been reawakened by someone else,  the one perfect song I can think of is: When the Man Comes Around by Johnny Cash.
YES
SO
MUCH
YES.

I liek this.
13  Playing / Equipment & Toys / Re: The Nerf 2012 New Gun Thread (N-Strike Elite, New Dart Tag, Vortex): take 2 on: September 10, 2012, 12:21:40 AM
I thought this would get around to you guys, but I guess not yet.

http://basicnerf.wordpress.com/2012/09/08/wired-com-nerf-articles-talks-about-history-engineering-reveals-small-details-on-2-future-nerf-blasters/

Wired.com Nerf articles talks about history & engineering, reveals small details on 2 future Nerf blasters. The "Strife" and "Ruff Cut".
Meh, I'm not particularly impressed by either, the "Strife" is probably going to be another flywheel pistol, or mini-stampede, and the "Ruff Cut" (Terrible name IMHO) seems just like it's going to be another Barrel Break (Or hopefully, an airgun with two barrels and a sizable airtank.) so I'm prepared for the dissapointment. I personally am more excited for the triad, it looks pretty cool.

(Random thought, what if Hasbro is going back to air-guns, and both the "Strife" and "Ruff Cut" are both air blasters? Wishful thinking...)

If they really aren't naked then there's no big deal. Everything else are excuses!
Please refrain from posting in threads older than 2 weeks.

How sturdy is it? How does the plastic feel compared to most nerf plastics, smooth and strong?
