Here is a small and 'hopefully simple' game used for indoor games.

FIND THE KEYS
A short and sweet game of zombies by Kingtrue

Sound advice: You should only try this if you have a home with plenty of space to work with or a huge basement. Or if you don’t care if something breaks.
OBECTIVE: The One and only goal of Find the Keys is to find the keys and escape.
If you don’t want a friend to be in control of your keys, find another small object.

Equipment:
•   Whatever dart gun or nerf gun your host will let you use.
•   (optional) socks are a bit sketchy. Just hide the important stuff before you start.
•   Flashlights (a must)
•   A key ring with some keys on it. (Your keys)
Or another small object.

STARTING UP: To make things even, there should be one zombie for every 3 humans that play. I usually play with 4-7 people so adjust If you need to.

Once zombies have been picked, and you’ve set boundaries like ‘no one can go upstairs after we start’, or ‘no closet hiding guys’, then the humans  need to leave the game area, ‘go upstairs’, and wait for the zombies to hide the keys.

You may need to put boundaries on where the keys can be hidden at, since I’m aware that trying to find a small object in my bedroom is hard enough. If your basement or house has little to no furniture, you could hide the keys inside another object. If its warm where you live, have the humans start outside and have to return to a certain point to escape. (like the car, but then again you don’t want your friends driving off in your car and never coming back.
Once the keys have been hidden, zombies will turn off the lights and tell the others to start. The Humans will have to enter in from wherever has been chosen. Either from a staircase, a randomly chosen room, or as me and my friends do, from outside.
When or if the humans find the keys, they need to return to the point they started from to win. All human players need to be there, if one is isolated or left behind, you have to go back for them.

Human rules:
Humans have to escape with the key. There is no other way.
The Humans can stun the zombies with a nerf dart for 1 minute.
You can carry as many darts as you can fit in your pockets.
Once you have the keys, you and the other humans must escape!
When you are tagged, place your gun out of bounds or somewhere out of sight.

Zombie Rules:
Tag all of the Humans!
Zombies can no longer move the keys once the game starts. Same goes for darts.
When a zombie is stunned, you need to count out 1 minute before you can play again. Make sure you’re in a room that has no humans in it too.
Getting stunned restarts the timer.

Heres a tiny example of a 5 player game.

Example Story:  Jim invites 4 other friends over; Ted, Tess, Kyle, and Luke to play ‘FIND THE KEYS”. Ted offers to be the first zombie, and takes his friend’s keys and goes into the basement to hide the keys. He places the keys under a rug in an empty room. Ted runs over to the light switch and flips it off, telling the others that they can start.

Kyle opens the door, and goes down first. Luke and Tess follow after. Jimmy stays up by the door.

Luke clicks on his flashlight and points the way. As Kyle walks off of the staircase, Ted reaches out and grabs Luke’s arm. Tess and Luke jump and fire off a couple foam darts at Ted’s arm. Ted is hit, but Luke’s a zombie. Tess and Luke run over and grab the darts and move over to the empty room. They tell Jim to come down with them. He runs down the stairs into the empty room. Jim and Luke point their nerf guns at the door as Tess looks along the walls for anything.

Kyle and Ted wait outside of the room, on both sides.

Tess says this room has nothing, and tells the two to go. Jim on the other hand knows that Ted and Kyle are on the other side. Ted laughs, knowing it’s true.
After about 5 minutes of silence, the humans become impatient. So the humans decide to push out of the room, and Jim gets tagged.

During the confusion, Tess and Luke run to a boiler room, expecting to find the keys. Luke wants to try searching this time so he goes off to look for the keys while Tess guards. Tess begins to panic.

The zombies, knowing they outnumber the humans, rush in, causing Tess to sprint into a corner. The zombies tag Tess, but Luke doesn’t want to go down. He hides in a small corner and tries to wait it out.

When the four zombies head further into the boiler room, Luke tries to sneak out around them. He wasn’t noticed.

He tip toes into the empty room with the rug and stubs his toe on the rug. He lifted up the keys, but the zombies heard the jingle. Ted yells out “He’s in the empty room!” And Luke books it, trying best to get to the stairs without falling or tripping in the dark. He looks up the flight of stairs and sees the light, stretching down.  He runs up the stairs, closes it, and wins that game. Next time around, Luke chooses to be the first zombie.

Since I’ve never played actual Humans Vs zombies, this was the only close thing to it.
Have fun, mix things up as you see fit, and see if your friends enjoy it too.

Comment , give me suggestions, and try this out. This game is great with a handful of people.
