Help Figureing out A HS Game

I'm thinking about starting up a HvZ game for my school. I belong to my schools Game club, and we're looking for fundraising things to do/ attracting people to the club. I think HvZ would be an epic thing to try.

However there's some complications : 
It would have to be cleared with the school so it could be an actual school event.
which means the rules would have to be changed...
No Nerf Blasters, or even any way for humans to defend themselves. would be a big obstacle i think..._{(especially after me and a large group of my friends got in big trouble for playing Assassin last year  )}

So, any advice for how to make it work around uptight school rules?

I don't see why socks couldn't be used, but if that's the case we ran a 1 day game last year that everybody who played loved. We called it Survival and it was exactly what you're describing. The Humans had absolutely no defense, all they could do was run. They had to make it from point A to point B, with several stops along the way. They could take any route, but they had to hit those spots and the zombies knew the locations. Zombies tagged the last person at the checkpoint before the finish line, so they won. It was intensely fun, and could easily be modified to fit into a high school scenario.
