So I wanted to add an avatar but I cannot figure out how. I also wanted to add a signature which is:

Did the second part for you, basically copy it (Minus the center part) into your signature, which is accessible in the profile tab, under "Forum Profile Information" and from there you can also give yourself an avatar.
