Are you aware of HvZSource
? I think it has all of the functionality you're trying to achieve, and we host it for free.
I was aware of HvZSource after I had created the spreadsheet. You have to create an account for HvZ Source. We ran into difficulties during our games that made us believe the players would choose not to make an account. We would also have difficulties with our foreign students who were a good portion of our players. The spreadsheet allows us to sign each player up during the initial meetings for the game.
It's a great spreadsheet and all for tracking, but that's pretty much all that it'll be able to do.
You say it'll solve many of your problems but at the end of the day your game Mods are still going to have to step up and enforce the rules of the game. The database will help fix disputes of people being turned or not but the Moderators will still have to check in with the players and check the unique IDs you're using since I'm assuming not everyone wears them in bold font on their shirts.
It will solve many of our problems keeping it organized. There will always be a need for mods I'm not saying there won't. We may run into problems such as the users not going to the tag submission form but they can't dispute their tags unless they have the other player's card(unless there have been multiple disputes with the same person). The Complex ID #s are written on each card with the corresponding Simple ID #. In the spreadsheet we also have the CIDs next to their corresponding SIDs.
